Alex Meade is a Los Angeles based composer for media. He has composed for a variety of projects including films, video games, and concert works. Alex strives to make accessible and interesting music that draws the audience into the story.

Born in Birmingham Michigan, a Detroit suburb, where he began his musical studies. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he studied composition and orchestration with the esteemed classical composer, Laura Schwendinger.
At UW-Madison, Alex composed for a variety of student films and performed in an eclectic array of ensembles ranging from symphony orchestra to electro acoustic ensembles, and chamber groups. In 2018 he composed the fanfare for the UW-Madison College of Engineering’s commencement, and a piece for the Wisconsin Brass Quintet.
Since graduating, Alex was one of composers selected for the 2019 - 2020 fellows in the Society of Composers and Lyricists’ Los Angeles mentor program. After the mentor program, Alex interned for Michael A. Levine (Cold Case) where he really began to broaden his knowledge of the industry. Under Michael’s guidance, Alex placed as a finalist in several international competitions. In 2022, he graduated from the prestigious University of Southern California screen scoring master’s program where he studied privately with Garry Schyman (Bioshock) and Patrick Kirst (The Kissing Booth).
His music can be heard on Netflix, Lifetime, Hallmark, Tubi, at various film festivals, and in indie-games . Alex has scored numerous projects including the award winning animated short films Pumpkin Pal and Chasing Light as well as additional music for the highly anticipated indie-game One Lonely Outpost. He is currently working as an additional writer for the composer David Bateman, and as a freelance orchestrator as well as on an upcoming indie-game.
